Siemens drive fault lookups: which drive do you have?
Siemens drive fault numbers depend on the drive family: an F0001 on a MICROMASTER 440 is not the same text as an F001 on a MASTERDRIVES, an F07801 on a SINAMICS G120, an F1 on a SINAMICS V20 or an F7801 on a SINAMICS V90 servo. Find your drive, then open its lookup.
Pick the unit that shows the code
Each lookup lists the codes from Siemens's own manuals, with what each one means, the likely causes and the first checks, and links the manual it comes from.
| Lookup | Where you see the code | On the page |
|---|---|---|
| Siemens MICROMASTER 440 Fault Codes | MICROMASTER 440, F and A codes on the BOP or AOP panel | 46 codes, for example F0001 Overcurrent, F0002 Overvoltage, F0003 Undervoltage |
| Siemens MASTERDRIVES Fault Codes | SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES VC and MC, F and A codes on the PMU or OP1S | 40 codes, for example F001 Main contactor checkback, F002 Pre-charging, F006 DC link overvoltage |
| Siemens SINAMICS G120 Fault and Alarm Codes | SINAMICS G120 and G120C (CU240E-2, PM240-2), F and A codes on the BOP-2 or IOP | 67 codes, for example F01600 SI P1, F01611 SI P1, F01910 Fieldbus interface setpoint timeout |
| Siemens SINAMICS V90 Fault Codes | SINAMICS V90 servo drive (PTI and PN), F and A codes on its BOP | 74 codes, for example F7801 Motor overcurrent, F30001 Power unit: Overcurrent, F30002 DC link voltage, overvoltage |
| Siemens SINAMICS V20 Fault Codes | SINAMICS V20 inverter, F and A codes on its built-in BOP | 55 codes, for example F1 Overcurrent, F2 Overvoltage, F3 Undervoltage |
For F30001 to F30004 and the other common SINAMICS power unit faults, fabrico.io has the SINAMICS drive fault codes guide.
Log the code, not just the stop
Write down the code with the unit it came from and the minutes lost, every time. Two numbers a week (how often each code fires and what it costs) turn "that alarm comes up sometimes" into a ranked list, and the free OEE tracker turns the week into a downtime Pareto. An alarm number tells you what the unit detected, not what happened at the machine in the seconds before: Fabrico's camera-based OEE software syncs camera video with machine data, so you can replay the moment the machine stopped next to the alarm.
See the moment the machine stopped
Fabrico, a light MES with computer vision, syncs camera footage with machine and timeline data, so you can replay the exact moment a machine stopped and review the cause next to its alarm. Cameras also catch short stops and a line that is switched on but not producing, the losses nobody writes down. Machines connect through a PLC, a Fabrico IoT device or an AI camera.
