ABB fault code lookups: which drive or robot?
ABB drives and robots number their faults differently: the ACS550 uses four-digit codes like 0001, the ACS800 shows a name with a logger code like 2330, and an IRC5 robot logs five-digit events like 50204. Find your unit, then open its lookup.
Pick the unit that shows the code
Each lookup lists the codes from ABB's own manuals, with what each one means, the likely causes and the first checks, and links the manual it comes from.
| Lookup | Where you see the code | On the page |
|---|---|---|
| ABB ACS550 Fault Codes | ACS550 drive (shared numbers on ACS150, ACS310 and ACS355 noted), control panel | 62 codes, for example 0001 OVERCURRENT, 0002 DC OVERVOLT, 0003 DEV OVERTEMP |
| ABB ACS800 Fault Codes | ACS800 drive with the standard control program, CDP 312R panel | 68 codes, for example 2211 CURR MEAS, 2212 INV CUR LIM, 2300 MOT CUR LIM |
| ABB Robot Error Codes | IRC5 robot controller, event log on the FlexPendant | 40 codes, for example 10012 Safety guard stop state, 10013 Emergency stop state, 10014 System failure state |
For the newer ABB drives (ACS355, ACS580, ACS880), fabrico.io has the ABB VFD fault codes guide.
Log the code, not just the stop
Write down the code with the unit it came from and the minutes lost, every time. Two numbers a week (how often each code fires and what it costs) turn "that alarm comes up sometimes" into a ranked list, and the free OEE tracker turns the week into a downtime Pareto. An alarm number tells you what the unit detected, not what happened at the machine in the seconds before: Fabrico's camera-based OEE software syncs camera video with machine data, so you can replay the moment the machine stopped next to the alarm.
See the moment the machine stopped
Fabrico, a light MES with computer vision, syncs camera footage with machine and timeline data, so you can replay the exact moment a machine stopped and review the cause next to its alarm. Cameras also catch short stops and a line that is switched on but not producing, the losses nobody writes down. Machines connect through a PLC, a Fabrico IoT device or an AI camera.
