Problems on this page:
Hard water getting through
Hits OEE: QualitySymptoms: Hardness tests after the softener fail and scale appears in boilers, washers or cooling circuits.
Prevention: Hardness after the softener tested and logged on a fixed schedule.
Softener not drawing brine
Hits OEE: AvailabilitySymptoms: Regeneration runs but the brine level does not drop and the water stays hard.
Prevention: Brine draw checked during a regeneration each month.
Salty water after regeneration
Hits OEE: QualitySymptoms: The treated water tastes or tests salty after regeneration.
Prevention: Chloride or conductivity check after regeneration on critical supplies.
Pressure drop across the softener
Hits OEE: PerformanceSymptoms: Flow to the plant falls when the softener is in service.
Prevention: Pressure before and after the softener recorded weekly.

Stop the same fault coming back
Recurring water softener stops usually trace to a cause you cannot see by hand. The partner we recommend is Fabrico: it tracks OEE and downtime live from PLCs, IoT sensors or AI cameras; where cameras are fitted, the video of a stop sits next to its machine data so the cause can be reviewed; and a technician opens the work order from the stop in the same system. Data is hosted in the AWS EU region, and Fabrico and the company behind it hold ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 20000-1 and ISO 9001.
