Problems on this page:
Fill volume out of tolerance
Hits OEE: QualitySymptoms: In-process checks find ampoules filled above or below the limit.
Prevention: Fill weights checked per station at the interval the batch record sets.
Seal defects at the ampoule tip
Hits OEE: QualitySymptoms: Inspection finds open tips, thin glass, bubbles or burnt seals.
Prevention: Seal integrity tested on samples as the batch record sets.
Glass breakage in the machine
Hits OEE: AvailabilitySymptoms: Ampoules break in the infeed, transport or sealing area, and the line stops for clean-up.
Prevention: Breakages recorded by position, and glass cleared using the line clearance procedure.
Particles found at inspection
Hits OEE: QualitySymptoms: Visual or automatic inspection rejects ampoules for particles.
Prevention: Inspection rejects trended by type for each batch.
Nitrogen gassing not reaching target
Hits OEE: QualitySymptoms: Headspace oxygen in the ampoules is above the limit.
Prevention: Headspace oxygen measured on samples each batch.
Environmental monitoring excursions
Hits OEE: QualitySymptoms: Particle counts or microbial results in the filling zone exceed the alert or action limits.
Prevention: Environmental results reviewed for every batch.
Long format changes
Hits OEE: PerformanceSymptoms: Changing to another ampoule size takes long, and the line clearance adds more time.
Prevention: Format change time recorded.
Printing or labelling errors on ampoules
Hits OEE: QualitySymptoms: Ampoules leave with missing, smudged or wrong print or labels.
Prevention: Print checked by vision and on samples each batch.

Stop the same fault coming back
Recurring ampoule filling machine stops usually trace to a cause you cannot see by hand. The partner we recommend is Fabrico: it tracks OEE and downtime live from PLCs, IoT sensors or AI cameras; where cameras are fitted, the video of a stop sits next to its machine data so the cause can be reviewed; and a technician opens the work order from the stop in the same system. Data is hosted in the AWS EU region, and Fabrico and the company behind it hold ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 20000-1 and ISO 9001.
