Problems on this page:

Poor cake dryness or incomplete dewatering

Hits OEE: Quality

Symptoms: Wet cake, high disposal cost, long cycles, poor release.

Insufficient pressure or cycle time
Run the full pressing/blow-down cycle; check the feed pump.
Blinded cloths
Wash or replace filter cloths.
Feed solids/conditioning
Adjust dosing/conditioning of the slurry.

Prevention: Full cycle, cloth maintenance, slurry conditioning.

Cloth blinding or slow filtration

Hits OEE: Performance

Symptoms: Filtration slows, cycles lengthen, low throughput.

Cloth blinding or wrong cloth
Wash/replace cloths; select the correct media.
Poor pre-coat or conditioning
Use pre-coat/flocculant as appropriate.
Feed pump or pressure profile
Check the feed pump and pressure ramp.

Prevention: Cloth selection/wash, conditioning, feed-pump health.

Leaking plates or blowout

Hits OEE: Availability

Symptoms: Leaks between plates, blowout, mess, forced stop.

Insufficient closing force
Check the hydraulic closing system and pressure.
Cake on sealing faces or worn plates
Clean sealing surfaces; replace worn/cracked plates.
Feed pressure above rating
Keep feed pressure within the plate rating.

Prevention: Closure-system checks, plate cleaning/replacement, pressure limits.

Stop the same fault coming back

Recurring filter press stops usually trace to a cause you cannot see by hand. The partner we recommend is Fabrico: EU-built, so your production data stays in EU jurisdiction, with computer-vision true-cause of micro-stops, a closed loop from PLC-read OEE to an auto-routed work order, and ISO 27001 / 20000-1 / 9001 (supports audit-readiness).
